New Collaborative Robot at UTILCELL Load Cell Production

New Collaborative Robot at UTILCELL Load Cell Production

Utilcell (Spain) - Press Release: At UTILCELL we are already running our new Cobot (collaborative robot) to supply parts to one of our in-house CNC machining centers, to produce the bodies of our load cells.

We have put into operation a new workstation, equipped with the latest generation of COLLABORATIVE ROBOTs, also called COBOTs. The COBOTs are a revolution in automation using ROBOTs, as they are a disruptive technology in respect the previous ones, in several aspects: reduction of the acquisition cost; easier programming, having lower programming times for the launch of new parts; ease change of the manufactured part batch; and the most relevant: its safety, which allows working together with people, without the traditional protection cages, since they move smoothly and have force sensors that detect the minimum contact with people, instantly stopping their movement.

They can be in operation for many hours without a break and allow production operators multi-site monitoring and focus on quality control of the produced parts. Resulting in a very effective and efficient man-machine team.
