Gerhart has an immediate opening for a Field Service Technician based in our Tatamy, PA facility. Candidates should have outstanding communication skills, strong mechanical or electrical background, and have a “can-do!” attitude. Candidates must be goal driven, coachable, and ready to be challenged!

Responsibilities:

• Perform both Instrumentation services and Industrial field services
• Able to accurately record data, maintain test reports and data sheets
• Instrumentation services include: electronic troubleshooting skills, maintain and calibrate all types of Industrial Process Control and Laboratory Instrumentation; pressure, temperature, chart recorders, flow, level, LEL, torque meters, etc.
• Work both independently and as a team to perform field services including: installation, calibration, and maintenance on all types of Industrial Weighing Equipment once training provided is complete
• Satisfactorily troubleshoot, identify, and diagnose malfunctions. Provide solutions that meet or exceed the customer's expectations
• Pro-actively identify and report opportunities that may generate additional sales and service revenue

Qualifications:

• Basic Understanding of 120VAC wiring and/or DC signal wiring
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Experience working on industrial motor controls and VFD's
• Background and understanding of industrial control valves
• Ability to comprehend plans and schematics
• Physically Fit; position requires consistent lifting, moving, and carrying multiple 50 lb weights for purposes of installing and maintaining
• Willing and able to bend, crawl, and lift for extended periods of time in a safe manner meeting company guidelines and OSHA standards
• Ability to work overtime during the week & weekends and be worked into a rotational on-call schedule
• Comfortable working in all work environments, wide variances include dust & dirt extreme temps from hot & cold and dust & dirt.

• Self-motivated with critical thinking skills
