As a highly experienced Firmware Developer we’re seeking a #bloqstar with extensive expertise in IoT ecosystems, embedded systems, and edge computing. Your deep understanding of firmware design, creative and critical thinking skills will help us further enhance our lockers’ firmware, ensuring scalability, resilience, and adaptability to meet client needs.

What will be your responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced firmware features based on client requirements
• Create and optimize drivers/interfaces for new and existing hardware
• Research and implement innovative ways to enhance locker performance and functionality
• Continuously maintain and optimize the solution for scalability, efficiency, resilience, and self-recovery
• Implement automated procedures for both internal team usage and live product setup/operation
• Collaborate with the software team using agile methodologies to ensure seamless integration
• Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot complex problems, identify product weaknesses, and provide expert-level solutions

What are the requirements to join us in this position:

• Proven experience in developing firmware for embedded systems with a solid understanding of design, architecture, and best practices
• Cross compiling experience in Python/C/C++ and shell programming languages
• Familiarity with hardware, communication protocols, and wireless communications (e.g. USB, Serial, Ethernet, CAN, RS485, MQTT, 4G LTE, Nb-IoT)
• Expertise in IoT ecosystems, architectures, and remote fleet management
• Experience with edge computing, device monitoring, and system integration
• Ability to read electronic schematics and understand design principles
• Ability to identify and collect meaningful metrics from remote devices for performance analysis
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a creative mindset

Nice-to-have skills:

• Embedded Linux experience (Yocto, buildroot, etc.)
• Functional firmware/hardware testing and optimization
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and Docker
• Background in hardware R&D and procurement
