As a Senior Business Development and Market Research Manager based in California, you will have responsibility for researching market opportunities and developing business strategies for new opportunities for Anritsu in key identified accounts. The role is not a sales role but a business development role to identify and explore new opportunities where Anritsu is not active in these accounts.

The primary deliverable of the Senior Business Development and Market Research Manager will be research new markets and opportunities for Anritsu, customer research to validate these opportunities within key identified customer, research on competitive environment in those new markets as well as at the identified customers, and work with Japan Headquarters in formulating the engagement strategies for the identified opportunities. This position will report to the Director of Business Development in Japan.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a strategy to enter new markets.
    • Market research for new opportunities for Anritsu based on the strategy set by the Director of Business Development at Anritsu’s head quarter in Japan.
    • Customer research to validate these new opportunities
    • Provide a GAP analysis between customer needs and currently available solutions.
  • Identify new technology and application trends that may create new opportunities for Anritsu and propose a product roadmap and timeline with agreed upon business levels.
    • In turn and under direction of the Director of Business Development in Japan, validate these new product roadmaps with the identified customers.
  • Research the competitive situation in these new markets and opportunities, as well as the competitive situation for these opportunities at the identified customers.
    • Using customer input to understand where our products fit on Price/Value curve vs. competition by market.
  • Report to the Director of Business Development in Japan and coordinate all activities with that office in Japan,
    • Provide feedback to proposals coming from Japan for the actual commercial engagement strategy for these opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven successful track record of 10-15 years of business development, market research and intelligence gathering in the telecommunications and or IT industry
  • Understanding of the telecommunication industry, both wired and wireless and familiar with technology trends and new emerging technologies and verticals i.e. AR/VR
  • Understanding the test and measurement equipment aspects as well as engineering services.
  • Understanding of the supply chain in the telecommunications industry
  • Proven ability to reach out to key decision makers and establish trusting relationships. Existing relationships with key customers such as Microsoft, Google, Motorola and similar will be highly valued
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, and the ability to articulate the both Anritsu’s value proposition as well as the customer’s perception of Anritsu’s product offering and roadmaps.
  • A self-starter who will take initiative, works pro-actively and consistently delivers results against goals and time lines.
  • Organized, detail oriented and a commitment for high accuracy in all data
  • The candidate must be comfortable reporting to and working directly with the Japan based director of business development.
