Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the University of Luxembourg have signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance education through the use of cutting-edge cloud technology. The MoU aims to strengthen the collaboration in cloud computing, focusing on skills development, research, and artificial intelligence (AI) integration.

Signed by Kathryn Xistris, AWS Managing Director for Public Sector EMEA and LATAM, and Professor Marie-Hélène Jobin, Vice-Rector for Partnerships and International Relations, University of Luxembourg, the MoU demonstrates how technology can transform educational institutions.

University of Luxembourg provides world-class education and conducts advanced research in the fields of IT, security, reliability, and trust. The combination of AWS’s technological expertise with the University of Luxembourg’s academic vision will create a transformative path for the future of learning.

Transforming educational experiences

A key solution already implemented by the University of Luxembourg is Lecture. Powered by AWS and developed by EDT&Partners, an AWS Partner and a global EdTech consulting firm, this open-source tool uses AI integration to improve teaching and learning experiences. Leveraging the AI for Teaching & Learning Framework on AWS, Lecture breaks traditional academic boundaries. Educators can now use generative AI to create adaptive learning paths, evaluate assessments, translate documents, and produce creative assets. The seamless integration with existing learning management systems makes knowledge transfer more accessible and efficient.

“Lecture is more than an off-the-shelf tool. It is a flexible solution that uses AI to make learning more engaging and personalized. AWS’s and EDT&Partners’ expertise in education technology as well as their focus on customer’s needs were instrumental in shaping this successful adoption at the University of Luxembourg.
