diribo (China) - Press Release: diribo opened its first Global Sensors Competence Center (GSCC) in Dongguan (China) in May 2022. "Now that the sensor trade fair issue will be on hold for the foreseeable future, especially in China, it is overdue to work on hybrid alternatives, because purely virtual trade fairs will not be a substitute solution," says Silvio Haase, CEO of diribo.
Dongguan is located in the Pearl River Delta, halfway between Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The Pearl River Delta is the region where there is the greatest demand for sensors in China, due to the booming consumer electronics and automotive industries.
In a world increasingly shaped by digitalization, Industry 4.0 and IIoT, innovative technologies are emerging with increasingly specific demands for functionality and individuality. Without sensors and measurement technology, there is no smart factory, no autonomous driving and no smart home. The sensor is one of the most important industrial goods of the future, but also one of the most complex product groups.
This development calls for establishing data-driven solutions. On the sales side, sensor manufacturers have the opportunity to use the GSCC both as a permanent exhibition, sales unit and/or CoCreation Lab on the largest sensor market in the world. On the purchasing side, the needs of companies in the region around the cities mentioned are identified and prepared accordingly.
This GSCC can of course also be used by partners already active in Asia or employees of the sensor manufacturers for their activities. In the prototype phase, the use of the GSCC is free of charge for European sensor manufacturers for the first six months. After that, they can decide whether it is profitable for them to use it and plan for the longer term.
