Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) - Lace was developed as part of the research project in the Master's degree in Fashion Design at the Faculty of Architecture of ULisboa. The study focuses on the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) on the fashion industry. The research analyzes the applications and AI tools used in the creative process, exploring how these technologies can expand innovative possibilities, optimize product design, and transform textile and digital development.
The AI Design Awards is an international competition that celebrates innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and design. The competition highlights projects that use AI as a creative tool, recognizing disruptive and exploratory approaches that push the boundaries of technology and design. The awards are given to works that demonstrate excellence in integrating AI across different creative fields, from graphic design and fashion to architecture and visual arts. The "Special Recognition" award honors high-impact projects that contribute to new forms of expression and innovation through AI.
The award-winning image is the result of one of the experiments developed in the project, where the student tested AI as a tool for creating textile and visual structures through the combination of generative algorithms and digital processes, exploring new shapes and textures that challenge traditional design methods.
