Ishida Europe Ltd. (United Kingdom) - Press Release: One of the world’s leading manufacturers of weighing, x-ray inspection and tray sealing equipment has strengthened its senior management team with a high-profile appointment.

Ishida Europe, which has just enjoyed a hugely successful Interpack 2023, has welcomed Takayo Motegi as Sales Director as it looks to introduce new products and further develop its business across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

He brings with him extensive corporate experience and significant knowledge of the Ishida operation and will work with the existing senior management team to help the company meet increasing demand. 

This includes targeting various food sectors and non-food markets with its growing world class portfolio of end-to-end packaging automation products, from weighing and quality control to packaging. 

It is anticipated that sales will increase over the next twelve months and surpass the growth experienced last year. In order to meet this rise, the company are expecting to create further specialist jobs, adding to a 700-strong workforce across EMEA.

“Automation in the food sector has become a primary focus, and we are well positioned to meet these needs, alongside an outstanding portfolio of inline quality control solutions.

“There was a lot of interest in our recently launched new products and solutions at Interpack, with customers impressed at the way they add real value by driving efficiency, reducing cost and waste, whilst improving productivity and accuracy.”

Takayo Motegi has been involved in Ishida’s operations since 1996, working in a host of senior positions across its Thailand and Japanese operations.

He has a wealth of global sales experience and, importantly, his corporate career has evolved with the company’s core values of respect, harmony, integrity, customer focus and collaboration.

“We are at a very exciting stage of our development in the UK and there is a big role to play in shaping our future product offer and, importantly, successfully maximising recent new launches,” added Takayo.

Ishida is a fifth-generation Japanese family-owned company with its European operations headquartered in Birmingham since 1985.

It initially started off on the Woodgate Business Park in one unit, but today the footprint encompasses three large facilities that house manufacturing and assembly, a dedicated R&D cell and a purpose-built training academy.

Manufacturing of the multi-head weighers takes place in the UK, alongside its x-ray inspection systems, check weighers and tray sealing machines.
