HMS Industrial Networks (Sweden) - HMS Industrial Networks now extends the Anybus® CompactCom™ 40-series family with a new version which enables any automation device to communicate on CC-Link IE Field. This means that HMS now offers both embedded and stand-alone gateway solutions for any CC-Link-related communication issue, including CC-Link IE Field.

Anybus CompactCom is a range of embedded communication interfaces which provides automation devices with connectivity to any industrial network – fieldbuses as well as industrial Ethernet. HMS now expands the Anybus CompactCom 40-series to include connectivity to the gigabit CC-Link IE Field network.

Available in two certified form factors:
Fully certified by the CC-Link user organization (CLPA), the Anybus CompactCom 40-series offers CC-Link IE Field connectivity in two formats:

• Module format, which enables instant connectivity for existing CompactCom users by simply plugging in the CC-Link IE Field module.
• Brick format, ideal for users who have limited space or want to add their own choice of network connectors.

Fast communication with CC-Link IE Field:
CompactCom is designed to be embedded into a host automation device to enable fast communication with any industrial network. Designing in the Anybus CompactCom into an automation device is quick thanks to the accompanying example driver code and configuration file (CSP+) provided by HMS.

Designed for slave communication on CC-Link IE Field networks, Anybus CompactCom can handle up to 1536 bytes of process data in each direction making it suitable for most slave devices. The module supports generic device profiles and comes with a dual port switch implemented in HMS’ award-winning network processor — Anybus NP40.

Access to all industrial networks:
By implementing the Anybus CompactCom concept, users get access to all major industrial networks, now including CC-Link IE Field. Since Anybus CompactCom products are interchangeable from a hardware and software point of view, users can connect to any network by simply selecting the CompactCom of choice. Available networks in the 40-series are: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, Powerlink, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and CC-Link. Ten other networks are also available through the Anybus CompactCom 30-series.

Completing the Anybus offering for CC-Link-based networks:
With the new Anybus CompactCom for CC-Link IE Field, HMS further strengthens the offering towards automation device manufacturers in general, and for those wishing to connect to CC-Link networks in particular,” comments Leif Malmberg, Product Manager at HMS. “We see CC-Link IE Field as one of the growing Ethernet networks in the future and we already have several other connectivity solutions in place for both CC-Link and CC-Link IE Field, enabling communication with, for example, Mitsubishi PLCs.”
