This full-time, permanent position will provide you with the opportunity to make your own mark within a variety of interesting and challenging projects. Follow the full product lifecycle, from drawing board, through development and manufacture, to delivery onto the customer and after sales technical support.

Responsabilities:

• Design and develop new products and product improvements
• Hands on electronics development, prototype design and testing - both analogue and digital
• Originate embedded microcontroller designs, hardware and software
• Component layout and routing of printed circuit boards
• EMC testing with in-house equipment and through liaison with EMC test house
• Ensure that technical files are created/ maintained and assist with product compliance
• Communication with the assembly shop and suppliers to ensure solutions are easily transferred into production
• Administration of PCB CAD system and interface to the 3D CAD system
• Provide technical support to other areas of the business

Essential experience and skills:

• At least 2 years of experience working in electronics design
• University degree or HND in Electronics Engineering or similar

The role will involve: both analogue and digital electronic design; integration of electronics into the mechanical design of a product; PCB layout; embedded micro-controller circuit design and development tools; C and C# programming languages; software development tools such as Microchip MPLAB IDE and Microsoft Visual Studio, Microchip PIC and other 3rd party software compilers. Some experience in most of these areas is required.

The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of electronic sensors, measurement systems and instrumentation.
