Rotary Power (United Kingdom) - Rotary Power, part of the British Engines Group, specialises in the design, development and manufacture of hydraulic motors and pumps to a range of sectors including construction, mining and agriculture. With over 50 years of supply, the company operates from a facility in the North East and a satellite facility in India, both with strategic investment in the latest machine tool technology.

With sales, marketing and distribution facilities in Germany, the United States and India, this is an exciting time to join the business as it embarks on a period of development that is seeing rapid growth in its new radial piston motor technology in to a number of key sectors.

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our site in South Shields for a Sales and Logistics Co-ordinator, on a full time, permanent basis. This role reports to the Customer Support Manager, supporting the daily activities and tasks relating to the sales and logistics function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of various types of documentation, in addition to shipping and invoicing Rotary Power’s range of products to a global customer market.

This role is intrinsic to our sales and logistics function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and will involve liaising with our production line managers, third party logistic companies, overseas sales and/or operations teams, and international customers to ensure the timely despatch and invoicing of products.

Duties will include:

  • To invoice customer orders
  • To posting proposals of carrier invoices
  • To facilitate the despatch of customers’ orders as per the relevant customer instructions and requirements
  • To organise ex-works shipments and liaise with our overseas offices
  • To obtaining quotes from freight agents for either internal departmental representatives or Rotary Power overseas offices
  • To complete the transaction of stock into the US Warehouse
  • To attend meetings and liaise with production departments to establish shipping dates
  • To create shipping purchase requisitions
  • To liaise with production departments regarding lead-times on customer orders
  • To complete the processing of sales and service customer orders in the business system.
  • To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected
  • To work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company’s health, safety and environmental policies

The person:

The candidate will have a proven track record of working in a busy administration, supply chain, and/or logistics department, with detailed knowledge of Brexit regulations. They will also have knowledge of international freight and the relevant documentation supporting the import/export of international shipments. An understanding of International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) is also required.

Applicants should have a high level of IT skills with experience of various Microsoft Office packages and business systems, and have the ability to organise work on own initiative, and work under pressure. Experience of using material requirements planning (MRP) or other business operating systems will be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and highly motivated, a results-driven team player who can work as part of a site team to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Working hours are 35 per week.
